Download this Letter of Authorization ("LOA"). An LOA gives police officers authority to enforce laws on your property when you are not there. Specifically, the officers are granted authority to make arrests or issue citations for illegal lodging, vandalism, drinking, or other offenses. By submitting an LOA, you are essentially stating that persons do not have permission to be doing certain activities on your property. If you have already filled one out, please take the time to do so again because each LOA is good for only six (6) months. These letters are crucial tools for the police officers working in your jurisdictions.
Please forward these letters on to any business or property owners in your area. Then, make sure they are either mailed or faxed to Western Division. If you have any questions, please contact Paige Hazard, San Diego City Attorney's Office, Neighborhood Prosecutor, Western Division, (619) 533-5844,
