50 members vote approval of dues increase at the NPCA Annual Meeting at the Lions Club On April 23rd, NPCA members voted their approval of a bylaws amendment of membership fees, which had not been increased in 18 years, and elected Board members for the next two years. The following changes in membership fees were approved:

The program started with President Arthur Schwartz's welcoming remarks and review of NPCA's accomplishments in 2007, followed by an outline of initiatives for 2008. The Klicka Scholarship was presented to Shela Tat (see separate article). Returning board members are Arthur Schwartz, Omar Passons and Sharon Turner. We welcome new board members Jonathon Lin, Paul Contreras, Sam Mitchell and Walter Scott. Board members who are serving the second year of their two-year terms are Jana Holsenback, Jody Surowiec, Michele Brown, Nikki Berdy and Steve Saars.

Following elections, Arthur presented a gift of appreciation to out-going board member Steve Hon, who is Chair of the North Park Historical Society (formerly NPCA's History Committee). Then Arthur and Beth Swersie did a presentation about the new NPCA Website, highlighting the new user-friendly features.

The meeting wrapped up with refreshments and music from the Jazzabelles.
